Prompting Is Clear Thinking
Good prompts are not magic spells. They are clear instructions.
Squirrels Editorial · February 2025
Prompts are instructions
A useful prompt usually includes:
- Role or context — "You are helping a grade 9 student understand loops."
- Task — "Explain with one Python example."
- Constraints — "Use simple words, under 150 words."
- Output format — "Use bullet points."
Weak vs strong
Weak: "Tell me about AI."
Strong: "Explain how recommendation systems work to a beginner. Use a music app as an example. Three short paragraphs."
Responsible use
Always verify facts that matter. Never submit AI output as your own work without understanding and citing it.
