Child Safety Policy
Last updated: June 2025
Squirrels Tech serves students, many of whom are minors. Protecting children is our highest priority. This policy outlines the safeguards we maintain across all programs and platform interactions.
Guardian Consent
- All minor students require verified guardian consent before enrollment
- Guardians receive notifications about program participation and can revoke consent at any time
- Consent records are stored securely with timestamps and audit trails
Supervised Interactions
- All mentorship occurs in group settings with admin visibility
- Private one-on-one messaging between mentors and minor students is not permitted
- Session notes and communications are logged for safety review
Mentor Screening
- All mentors undergo application review and background verification
- Mentors must accept our Code of Conduct before participating
- Mentor accounts can be suspended immediately upon policy violations
Reporting Concerns
If you observe behavior that concerns you, report it immediately to hello@squirrelstech.org or through your program administrator. All reports are taken seriously and investigated promptly.
Content & Project Publishing
Student projects are published to our showcase only with explicit publish consent. Display names and locations are optional and controlled by the student and guardian.
